At Citi, we believe that working to promote environmental sustainability is a good business practice. Citi has committed to a number of climate change initiatives, which includes the paperless statement. The program has resulted in the reduction of millions of paper statements; thereby saving thousands of trees. Not only is this a win for the environment, but also for our customers who prefer the convenience of receiving e-statements.

If CitiMortgage would like to further their paperless statements campaign, why not offer the customer a further incentive, instead of just a green incentive. CitiMortgage would probably save a lot of money if more people opted for e-mailed statements. Why not extend the savings to the customer, as well. The green aspect of using less paper is great, but c'mon...are you just jumping on the let's go green wagon when in earnest you want to save money? You scratch the customer's back, we'll scratch yours.
