Citimortgage.com Takes Online Servicing To The Next Level

July 27, 2010 by Seth Doria, Senior Communications Analyst, CitiMortgage

Category: CitiMortgage,Seth Doria

Those of you who visit citimortgage.com to research home financing options or self-service your accounts may have noticed some changes over the past several months. I've asked Maria Juric, Contact Strategy Manager, to highlight some of the major features of our site enhancements.

Over the past year we have focused on providing visitors to citimortgage.com an enhanced, more user-friendly online mortgage experience. In the past, you could not do much more than view the rate of the day, make a payment, and fill out a mortgage application form.

Fast forward to today: From a customized homepage (visible after signing in on citimortgage.com), you can compare monthly payment options of various products side-by-side; access two years worth of statements online, up from just one previously; easily identify solutions for Homeowner Assistance; link multiple mortgage accounts under a single sign-in function, track the progress of a new application, start a mortgage refinance and more.

1. Link ALL your CitiMortgage accounts under a single username and password.

2. Track the progress of your new application/s and view previously searched mortgage scenarios.

3. View or make your mortgage payment.

4. Download or print 2 years worth of monthly mortgage statements.

5. Enroll to receive paperless statements.

Whether you're a current CitiMortgage customer, an occasional citimortgage.com visitor or a future customer, take a few minutes to check out what's new at citimortgage.com.

Check back Thursday for Part II of this series when Maria talks about some of the new enhancements for those in the market for a new home or perhaps looking to refinance.

I have some credit issues. I was thinking that I may need to deal with one of the smaller banks who have more flexibility in approving people with less than perfect credit. Am I doing right thing? Should I find one or two local or online mortgage brokers and apply with them and only them?

When I click on "contact us" I do not get an email option. Just mail, phone, and blog.

If CitiMortgage would like to further their paperless statements campaign, why not offer the customer a further incentive, instead of just a green incentive. CitiMortgage would probably save a lot of money if more people opted for e-mailed statements. Why not extend the savings to the customer, as well. The green aspect of using less paper is great, but c'mon...are you just jumping on the let's go green wagon when in earnest you want to save money? You scratch the customer's back, we'll scratch yours.

At Citi, we believe that working to promote environmental sustainability is a good business practice. Citi has committed to a number of climate change initiatives, which includes the paperless statement. The program has resulted in the reduction of millions of paper statements; thereby saving thousands of trees. Not only is this a win for the environment, but also for our customers who prefer the convenience of receiving e-statements.

It's a shame that the new level doesn't include the capability of sending emails from a link placed on your website.
