Hello. My name is Seth Doria. I published my first post on this blog last week called "Personal Information on Social Media," but wanted to take a few minutes to talk about why we launched this blog and what you can expect from us.

Our goal with this forum is to help, whether that's through answering specific questions about a service or program, or taking suggestions on how we can improve our service.

We plan on sharing educational information (new services, updates to existing programs, etc.) using both traditional posts like this one, and a Q&A mailbag format, where previous questions can be answered more thoroughly. We will also add in some video posts along the way.

We would like to use this blog as an opportunity to hear what you want to talk about. Since our goal is to serve you, it only makes sense that we incorporate your input and adjust our plans accordingly. Just use the comments section to tell us what you want to read about and we'll get to work writing about it.

We want this to be a forum to provide answers to people who have questions, and serve the needs of our clients to the best of our ability. We welcome your participation and ask that you abide by our usage rules.

To finish off my first post here, I want to make sure you know we have launched this blog because we believe social media will help us connect to customers in a new way. We look forward to both sides taking advantage of this open dialogue as we work to serve your mortgage needs.

From moderating to writing to editing, I'll be involved in most facets of this blog, and I really look forward to the experience. Thanks for reading.

Hi Anne. In order to complete an application, we do have to collect a credit card number from the borrower for the application, appraisal, credit report and flood certification fees. The fees, however, will not be charged to the borrower until the customer receives and has a chance to review the Good Faith Estimate (GFE) and Truth in Lending (TIL) disclosures. Only once the borrower receives, reviews, and provides consent to proceed with the loan will the upfront fees be charged to the credit card. If the borrower does not like the GFE/TIL and does not provide consent to proceed the loan is withdrawn without the fees ever being charged. The Mortgage Consultant can always give a customer a line-by-line breakdown of the fees for the borrower to write down and review without completing an application.

Hi Joanne. Thanks for the question. I’m afraid that if the property is not assumable, which would be outlined in the original loan documentation, you would have to go through the application and qualification process for a new purchase. I know you said you can’t afford the down payment, but it might be worth checking out your options anyway. You can call 1-800-MORTGAGE or go online to www.citimortgage.com to see what is available.

Thanks,

Even if you were registering and making an online payment for the first time, it shouldn’t have taken more than 15 minutes. If you will submit a comment with the date of your transaction, we will research it further to see if it was something on our end.
Thanks for the question Mike. For a listing of available CitiMortgage-owned properties, go to www.citimortgage.com, then scroll down to the lower mid portion of the screen and click on “Properties Available for Sale.” (Direct link: https://www.citimortgage.com/Mortgage/Oreo/SearchListing.do) This gives you a search engine by city, county, etc. to find properties.

Also, just a note: If Citi Mortgage did not own the loan, and was servicing it for an investor, it is likely we no longer have control of the property. Accordingly, we may not be the party that lists it for sale.

This is not a complaint, merely a suggestion. We have had a mortgage with you for a few years. Each month we get in the mail a report of our account ALONG WITH solitations for accident insurance, etc. I spent 45 years in my own insurance agency and am well insured. You aslso send an envelope for my payment. My bank account is debited each month for the current payment. That was set up so I wouldn't forget. You know how we seniors are. But I didn't forget to celebrate my 44th anniversary of my 39th birthday last April. If you can set it up in your computer to just send me page 1 of the account info. each month that would be sufficient for my records. I hunted and pecked this message, so please overlook any errors. Thanks, Jean P. Bodet, Sr.

We have been trying to locate information on the home adjacent to us. It is owned by your bank and we are always given the run around. Just yesterday we were given 4 different phone numbers the last one we were on hold for an hour before we finally hung up. We have several questions about the home. It is located in Shepherd Montana. Please check into it and let us know who we should contact or how to proceed. Thank You
