Year-end statements, also known as IRS Form 1098 Mortgage Interest Statement, are being mailed out to CitiMortgage customers who paid interest on their mortgage loan during the 2010 tax year. If you do not receive your year-end statement by February 7, 2011, please contact us at 1-800-283-7918.

If you are a registered online customer with CitiMortgage, you can view your year-end information online. If you have not yet registered for online access, go to Citimortgage.com and register today!

Phill, I'm sorry about the experience. I understand that you are frustrated. As noted in this blog post, the forms were mailed out earlier this year. If you haven't received it, we may have an incorrect address on file. I want to get you the answers you need, so I asked our Customer Service manager to contact you directly. Shelley emailed you at the address you provided with her direct contact information, but she has not received a response from you.

I understand that from your perspective my responses may seem like empty words, but I assure you that couldn't be further from the truth. I take my role on this blog very seriously and strive to get everyone the help they are looking for. While I may not be able to provide all the detailed answers here, I promise you that the posts are handled with great care and concern. I have been on the line for more than 42 minutes. I have been trasfered to 7 different people including but not limited to, 3 customer service reps. I sold my home on a short-sale last year an have not recieved a 1098 or 1099C. Now I remember as to why I hated calling Citi.

I requested my year end tax statement on Wednesday 2/8/12. I provided my fax number to the Citi representative. The representative told me I would receive the year end statement within 24 hours. It is going on 36 hours and I have not received the statement. Please advise.

One of our neighbors recently died. His mortgage was held by Citimortgage Inc., according to the tax records. No one is taking care of the property and it has become an eyesore and rats and racoons have found their way into the house and are destroying the interior. Who can we contact to find out about caring for the property - the bank's collateral is losing value quickly and it certainly is not helping our neighborhood.

Thank you for contacting us. I have forwarded your information to someone who can assist you. In the meantime, I know we have had similar situations in the past. The two most common issues were because the necessary software was not installed on their computer, or when they attempted to saved or print the file using the ‘right click’ on their mouse.

To save and/or print the file, 'left click' the 1098 link to open the document. Once the file is open, you can use the save and/or print menu functions from within the Portable Document Format (PDF) reader. If you do not already have the necessary free software that reads Portable Document Format (PDF) files, you can download the software from the Internet. Simply do an Internet search for a ‘free PDF reader’ and download the application of your choice using the instructions provided by the application provider.

I'm not able to get my tax document because the PDF links are not working. Just a blank window pops up. I'm not able to download the PDF. Did this on my PC in IE, FF and Chrome, as well as on my Mac in Chrome and FF.

We were frustrated by the process of getting a copy of our 2009 1098 Form. We called twice and were promised it would be faxed to us within 24 hours, but nothing ever arrived. After I posted a comment on this blog, Mr. Wood responded back to us immediately to let us know he'd found the statement and asked how we wanted it sent. We received it by fax this morning. He is a shining example of how customer service should work. I really appreciate his contact with us letting us know what was happening. I had always found Citibank to give outstanding service when we had a mortgage with them and was surprised by this lapse. Thank you again Mr. Wood for outstanding service.

Thank you for your comments and feedback. We have found that some customers have experienced difficulty accessing their 1098 if the necessary software was not installed on their computer, and/or they attempted to saved or print the file using the ‘right click’ on their mouse.

I was told by customer service that I could retrieve the last 3 years of my year end statements online. It was certainly not that easy. After registering, I was not able to obtain the information that was needed. I was on the website for at least 45 minutes. I even tried the help page and it was not useful.

I have been waiting for the Tax Return Information, and nothing has arrived. I have looked all through your site and find myself frustrated trying to figure where on earth to call to get this information. All I come across is a dead End! Taxes are due just around the corner, yet CitiMortgage does not mail us anything nor do we have an easy way to find this much needed information.

We apologize that you are experiencing difficultly accessing your 1098 online, but you can rest assured that a copy of your 1098 will be arriving very soon through regular mail.

We are not aware of any technical issues with the site, so the issue you are having with the online version could be related to software.

The 1098 is provided in a Portable Document Format file, also known as a PDF. These files end with “.pdf” and are only accessible using an application that reads PDF files, such as the free Adobe Reader. To find and download a free PDF reader application from the Internet, simply search for a free PDF reader, select the application of your choice, and then download the application using the instructions provided by the application supplier.

Citi's paperless statements are far too large (over 2Mb each) to warrant going paperless. A year worth of statements takes up more than 25Mb on my drive, compared with 0.4Mb typically taken by statements from my other banks. There's no excuse for this! Citi urgently needs to review its current methods of producing electronic documents and perhaps avail itself of some of the widespread 21st century technology for producing smaller, user-friendly statements as do other financial institutions. If anyone is reading this, please don't bother with the usual platitudes in a perfunctory corporate response; just tell your boss that clients want to see this change! If you need help call me. I run a business from home so I have to be efficient.
