All the reps I spoke to assured me it should not be a problem. After months of sending the needed documenst and waiting...I was told that he firm that underwrote my mortgage does not allow modifications. Also during this long and drawn out process no one at Citi bothered to tell me that foreclosure proceedings were going to be initiated. I did not know this until I received court documents in the mail (which was before Citi told me I was not eligible for a mof\dification)....Very poor busines practices.

Hi, I have a 30 yrs fixed mortgage with your company for my condo in Downtown Chicago. Last year I've asked to help to pay monthly payments by reducing my interest from 6.375% to what ever was the interest at that time (which I believe was around 4%). The only modification I've got is to incorporate my real estate tax into the mortgage, no interest reduction, which increased my monthly payments even more because now I have to keep two moths escrow. And when I was calling and asked why it was done that way, or how Citi can help, I was told by numerous people, including some managers that, nothing could be done because I've signed the modification (although I was explaining that I sign it under duress). I even wrote the letter to Mr. Sanjiv,Dias sent it register mail, but nobody ever got back to me. I am paying my monthly payments, but it is very difficult and not fare that I cannot get the mortgage reduction, like other people getting today. And the answer I am getting from the Citi, that it is too bad, but I CANNOT be helped by them. Please advise if anything can be done to help me to reduce my monthly payments by reducing the interest rate. I really do not want to sell my Condo and loose money on the sale. Thank you in advance.

Hi Alexander. Thank you for your blog post regarding The BiWeekly Advantage Plan. The Plan is an optional tool for those customers who are interested in making scheduled additional principal payments to accelerate repayment of their loan. It is important to us that customers understand that they can always make additional principal payments without participating in the BiWeekly Advantage Plan. However, some customers prefer the convenience of a disciplined payment plan that is administered for them. Please also understand that the Plan does not modify the loan agreement in any way. It is simply an ancillary service that facilitates and automates making accelerated payments.

I have been asking Citimortgage for help since July 2010, just before my son was born. I applied for homeowner assistance knowing that I would be on unpaid leave. I was always told that the application was being reviewed. Never a call from anyone. Now I am in a chapter 13 bankruptcy and fell behind in my payments because I am paying so much to the trustee of my bankruptcy. Citi wants to foreclose and has offered me no relief. Its terrible because right after my bankruptcy, Citi refuesed my payments for April and May 2011. Well, now Citi wants them. Now I'm 4 months behind and Citi has their lawyers taking me to court to get the stay removed from the bankruptcy so you can foreclose. This is terrible. Citi refused to help and was nothing but condescending to me. Now Citi is taking my house. I can't believe that there is all this talk about wanting people to keep their homes but have done nothing to help. Terrible. And of course no one from Citi will talk to me.

We have been on the phone about once a week for over a month now, talking to loan-modification people, faxing forms, and doing all that we can to keep in contact with CitiMortgage because, for the FIRST TIME in 5 years, we are more than a month late on our payment due to my husband being out of work for a week last month.

I had always been taught that, if one keeps in contact with a creditor and in communication, the creditor usually does its best to work with a person. As naive as it sounds, I believed this advice.

But we are still getting phone calls (and answering), and letters. The newest letter says that an exterior inspection will be done at our expense, and we are now being reported to a collection agency. I would call again, but that doesn't seem to be doing any good.

I'm not sure what will help us. Despite the launch of this great-sounding new help for homeowners, we feel like an un-helped number. Lost in the shuffle. We're one of thousands of customers, but we're still individual people who are just having a tough month.

I am not a very happy/satisfied customer with Citimortgage at this point. Recently my husband and I had to file bankruptcy due to a faiiled business. I followed all of the proper procedures sent in the re-affimation paperwork to your company, due to a failure on your employee's part it did not make it to the courts. I am now being punished for inept behavior on your part. I have never missed a payment on my mortgage even in very hard times. You guys are withholding internet access from me. I work for a local school district and get paid once a month and have always paid on the 1st of each month, now I have to trust snail mail, rediculous! We are feverishly trying to rebuild our credit and you guys are not reporting our on-time, everytime payments. We really want to re-fi to get away from your non-customer service oriented company and are unable to do so because you are holding us hostage. Everytime I call I get the very uninterested/uncaring robots saying "there is NOTHING they can do for us. I very well know you could if only you would. My next step is internet blogging and checking with my attorney to see what can be done through the Federal Bankrupcy Courts since I have copies of all the re-aff paperwork that I sent to you guys. Show me that I am wrong and fix this horrible situation. I am sure this will not be published but I hope to at least get a key carrying person with some authority ot contact me.

I have delt with the same two people with citimortgage who are asking me for my divorce decree all 30 pages and I cannot understand why they need all my personal information. The loan officer has asked for my 2009 and 2010 taxes which I have sent 3 times already which means he does not even really check the folder. Then I deal with a supervisor that I send my divorce decree to via e- mail which she then sends me one back and said I have recieved the divorce degree and I updated your file. Then two days later she sends me another one saying she only recieved 7 pages plus not they want another 298.00 to keep the rate. Talk about being treated like a pile of XXX shame on citinortgage.
